This is a new and unique program started by the institute for engineering graduates. The course on Forensic structural engineering has been developed with an aim to develop graduates with technical and legal practices in the field of forensic investigation involving cases of civil structures. The candidate with education of this program can grab opportunities in government and private civil work quality auditing agencies, Government and Private Companies engaged in infrastructure development, Consultancy firms for attorneys practicing land disputes and construction disputes, International companies practicing in structural failure analysis and failure preventions, Government departments engaged in urban and rural infrastructure development and maintenance, Government and private structural material testing laboratories.
(Eligibility for admission: BE/B.Tech in Civil engineering with minimum 60% mark)

Specialization in Forensic Structural Engineering

Course work of this program is framed to provide technical training in civil structural failure assessment, management, prevention and repair. This specialization includes advanced engineering and legal aspects like case studies of real structural disputes and failure, on-site and laboratory based structure quality assessment, quality audit of civil works, damage assessment due to natural disasters, blasts, and fire and design deficiencies. With rapid civilization in India
and abroad, expertise of this field is becoming vital and this program expands scope for engineers to do professional practices both in construction field and legal practice.
